


The Dogfish is the smallest of the shark family commonly found around the UK coast, There are three types of doggies they are the Greater Spotted Dogfish (Bull Huss, Nursehound) the Lesser Spotted Dogfish (Common Dogfish, Rough Hound) and the Spur Dogfish this is the most shark looking. The lesser spotted is the most commonly caught doggie off the east coast beaches a great little fighter. Dogfish often feed in packs and they are the waste disposal units of the sea. At one time they were killed and thrown back in the sea.
Tactics
Most bottom rig we catch dogfish the best bait is fish baits and worm.
Eating
Dog fish are very good eating although they are hard to skin the don't need filleting as they only have a back bone and that's cartilage like all sharks.
