PULLEY RIG

The Pulley Rig is for fishing over rough ground where there is a strong risk of the lead getting snagged.

When you cast the weight is at the end of the rig when it hits the bottom the bait releases. when the rig is retrieved with a fish the weight is pulled up to the swivel out the way. A rotten-bottom rig is often used with this set up so that if the lead gets stuck in the rocks the link will snap you lose the weight but not the fish.
