RUNNING RIG

The Running Rig is very popular for boat  and up tide fishing  and works just as well for beach and pier fishing, with a free running snood the bait can cover a wide area. This method works with a pennel rig working a large bait across the sand it will hopefully find any gullies features where fish will be feeding.

I like to use a baited spoon or flounder rig with the running rig it can be very effective for flat fish, you let the spoon that's baited with a small ragworm move with the current and every now and again you lift the rod this makes the spoon spin scuffing up the sand and mud to attract the fish.

The main line and Snood  depends on the target fish you are aiming for. A 10lb main line with 8lb snoods make flounder fishing exciting and a lot of fun.
