Tackle can be a
huge outlay if you want the latest and most advanced kit but the outlay can
be more modest, for under a hundred pounds you can get a reasonable beach
setup. When you have a basic setup, Rod, Reel and weights and end tackle
then you can grow your kit, different rigs a rod rest maybe a lantern for
night fishing the list will grow as you grow as a sea angler.
Apart from the obvious kit this is some of the kit you
may need:
-
Protective clothing to keep warm and dry, a floatation suit is a good
idea for boat fishing and fishing from rocks or open sea walls.
-
A rod rest or beach tripod can be essential when
fishing more then one rod or for long periods.
-
When fishing at night good lighting, a lantern and
head lamp is a necessity, remember that paraffin lamps are not aloud on
some piers.
-
Forceps or a disgorger for getting those tricky hooks
out.
-
A drop net is a good idea when pier fishing or
fishing from rock or sea wall.
-
A knife for cutting up bait and a rag for handling
the fish and cleaning your hands
-
Scissors to trim line and make up rigs
-
Bait elastic and baiting needle
-
Spare line, weights and terminal tackle

A good back pack or tackle box to put it all in.
